Benefits of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

After hearing positive feedback from multiple colleagues, I started my journey with Accelerated Resolution Therapy in Greenville, SC. Early in my career (it’s still early, so earlier), my supervisor consistently reminded me of the need to be trauma-trained as a mental health therapist. I signed up for the ART training in November 2022. It was life-changing and career-changing. So when I tell you about the benefits, my thoughts come from research and my experiences!

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?

I am not going into the entire history of ART—just the basics so you can get an idea of what to expect. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a peer-reviewed model of psychotherapy rooted in evidence-based theories. Using eye movement to excite the memory centers of the brain, we target memories and thought patterns that help people struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and many other mental and physical issues.

ART uses imagery, body sensations, visualization, and the remarkable healing capacity of the brain to create lasting change in as little as a single session. It is a calming, creative process that harnesses the imagination to help you find closure that can rapidly restore your health and functioning. My experience

After my training in ART, I was mesmerized. It changed my understanding of the brain, trauma, mental and spiritual health, and human resilience! I started doing it with clients. In weeks, I saw excellent results. I started my own ART-based therapy and discovered parts of myself that I thought were healed and resolved that needed more attention and work. For some, the changes started after a single session. For myself and others, the change was slower but no less impactful.

I have been practicing ART for almost two years. I use its principles almost daily in my practice and in my daily life. It is so powerful that it feels like magic. Miracles are performed that science tries to explain, but I cannot. It rewires the brain and gets it healthy again.
